Job DescriptionSalary: Summary: Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing assembly rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses programs and processes to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products or equipment. Needs to have the ability to perform failure diagnosis to the board/component level and perform root cause analysis with documented results, also needs to be able to use drawings and schematics to troubleshoot subassemblies and assemblies to component level. An ability to solder a must, certification not required but preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Experience: Technician must have a minimum of 6 months on the job training in an electronic testing environment. Technical Competencies: Works on one or two units, in a product line, where limited judgment is required, also works on at least 85% of a product line where assignments are semi-routine in nature, i.e., can troubleshoot a unit or subassembly without any help. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new products. Requires ability to read and interpret Acceptance Test Procedure (A.T.P.), data sheets to perform pre-burn, final testing, and use schematics and drawing to perform troubleshooting. May also work with engineers to generate problem reports or Engineering Change Notices (E.C.N.). Will be able to troubleshoot complex circuits to component level using proper test equipment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Must have good technical, analytical, and communication skills. Under limited supervision, be able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of instruments. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data relating to the work being performed. Knowledge of appropriate electro-static discharge (ESD) safety precautions. Must have abilities in electronic component removal and replacement using appropriate soldering type skills. Must also have good time management skills. Must be able to work well with others and under pressure. Willing to learn Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) i.e., FAR-1,21,43,65,121,135,145 etc. Electronic equipment used: PC (Windows XP or later and DOS), Digital Storage Scope, RF Signal Generator, Thermal Chamber, Spectrum Analyzer, GPS Generator, Multimeter, and Frequency Counter. Responsibilities: 1. Services 85% of their primary section's product line., 2. Component level troubleshooting, 3. Ability to understand product line technical concepts., 4. Ability to read and understand and apply technical specifications and procedures., 5. Solves routine problems independently., 6. Demonstrate an ability to handle more advanced assignments, including products not previously trained on., 7. Production efficiency, 8. Quality and reliability, 9. Effective identification and utilization of resources, 10. Written and verbal communication, 11. Workmanship standards, 12. Other duties as assigned LANGUAGE SKILLS The applicant must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondences. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Candidates must have a strong command of computer desktop tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist in completing essential duties. Effectively demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have a willingness to constantly be learning. Syteline experience is a preferred but not required. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Requires prior experience with electronic technology or equivalent, such as 2 years military service in a related field. Entry-Level Radio Frequency Technician should fit in the above. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the person is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The person must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30lbs.
