SUMMARY The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution center operations to ensure the prompt, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise. This role drives overall operational performance, establishes and executes team goals, and ensures alignment across eCommerce fulfillment, inventory control, and warehouse workflows. This position provides leadership and direction to DC leadership staff, including the DC Assistant Manager, and maintains accountability for throughput, inventory integrity, and service levels across all distribution center functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee and direct the daily operations and workflow of a high-volume fulfillment center, ensuring alignment across eCommerce, receiving, picking, and shipping functions., • Directly manage and develop DC leadership staff, including the DC Assistant Manager, and provide oversight to supporting roles, including the Inbound & Outbound Freight Specialist., • Accountable for overall eCommerce fulfillment performance, including order accuracy, processing speed, and service level expectations., • Oversee inbound and outbound freight flow to ensure alignment with DC capacity, prevent bottlenecks, and maintain efficient throughput., • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges such as delays, damaged shipments, or workflow disruptions to maintain operational continuity., • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments, including freight documentation, discrepancies, and damage reporting., • Ensure overall inventory accuracy and integrity, including loss prevention, discrepancy resolution, and process improvements., • Lead and motivate both salaried and hourly team members by setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and holding teams accountable for performance., • Monitor workflow and capacity across all DC functions to identify constraints, eliminate bottlenecks, and maximize throughput. Generate, review, and analyze management reports to monitor performance and drive decision-making., • Partner with cross-functional teams including stores, eCommerce, buyers, inventory control, accounting, and vendors to resolve issues and improve operational alignment., • Enforce all company safety protocols and conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe working environment., • Ensure the timely and complete submission of all required paperwork, logs, and operational reports., • Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds., • Minimum of 3 years in an extremely fast-paced warehouse and distribution center processing environment, while managing multiple departments with multiple direct reports., • A proven track record of identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues to remove obstacles and drive progress., • Forward-thinking ability to proactively monitor trends and anticipate future challenges and opportunities to ensure sustained growth., • Possess a high-level understanding of Warehouse Management System (WMS), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including experience in process development, usage, inventory control, and troubleshooting., • Proficient in MS Office Suite, freight and parcel company programs, and handheld data collection equipment., • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, buyers, store operations, and senior management., • Capable of coaching a team to success, as well as holding them accountable for results.
