Position Summary: The Senior FP&A Analyst is a critical analytical role supporting all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting across the organization. This position partners cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain, and works closely with the Controller to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data and reporting. The Analyst will be deeply involved in customer and item-level margin analysis, SG&A expense tracking, KPI management, budget vs. actual reporting, and scenario modeling. The individual will also play a key supporting role in M&A financial diligence, integration, and strategic analysis—providing insights that inform growth, investment, and profitability. Additionally, the analyst will evaluate product and category profitability across all development stages—from concept to commercialization—to ensure sound investment decisions and margin management. This is a high-visibility, data-driven role reporting directly to the CFO. It is analytical and advisory in nature, with no decision-making authority; all recommendations and actions are subject to CFO and executive review. Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Forecasting • Support the CFO in managing the annual budgeting process, including bottom-up departmental budgets (Sales, Marketing, Operations, G&A)., • Maintain rolling forecasts (monthly/quarterly) and multi-year plans (3–5 years) that reflect current business trends., • Build scenario and sensitivity models to evaluate impacts of price changes, volume shifts, promotions, tariffs, and supply chain costs., • Collaborate with the Controller to reconcile forecasts to actuals and ensure consistency across ERP and FP&A models. Budget vs. Actual (BvA) & Departmental Reporting • Prepare detailed monthly BvA reports and variance explanations by department., • Work with department heads to understand drivers of variance and ensure accurate accruals and expense tracking., • Consolidate findings into clear, actionable summaries for CFO and senior leadership review. Product & Category Profitability • Conduct detailed customer, product, and category-level margin analysis across all stages of product development—from concept through commercialization., • Evaluate profitability drivers including price, mix, freight, tariffs, and material costs to support launch and pricing decisions., • Partner with Operations and Brand teams to ensure category-level profitability aligns with company growth and margin objectives., • Provide lifecycle economics and profitability insights to inform strategic planning and investment prioritization. KPI Tracking & Management Reporting • Maintain and report on core KPIs such as net sales, contribution margin, SG&A ratio, trade spend, inventory turns, and working capital efficiency., • Prepare monthly management reporting packages (P&L, cash flow, KPI trends) with variance commentary and executive insights., • Support board and lender reporting, ensuring consistency and accuracy in presentations and analyses. M&A and Strategic Analysis • Support the CFO in M&A financial modeling, including base, downside, and synergy scenarios., • Assist in due diligence by normalizing financials, identifying EBITDA adjustments, and assessing working capital requirements., • Participate in post-close integration, ensuring alignment of budgets, reporting, and KPIs., • Support strategic benchmarking and market landscape analyses to inform long-term planning and acquisition strategy., • Build presentation materials and executive summaries synthesizing financial insights, valuation scenarios, and strategic opportunities. Collaboration with Controller & Accounting • Partner with the Controller to ensure monthly close accuracy, timely accruals, and consistency between management and GAAP reporting., • Assist with reconciliations and financial tie-outs as needed to support reporting accuracy and compliance. Process Improvement & Systems • Help improve FP&A tools, models, and reporting templates to enhance efficiency and accuracy., • Support dashboard and BI development to streamline reporting and visualization., • Maintain a culture of data integrity and accountability across Finance. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA a plus)., • 3–5 years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience; CPG or consumer products experience strongly preferred., • Advanced Excel and modeling proficiency (scenario, BvA, sensitivity, and M&A models)., • Strong analytical and presentation-building skills; ability to translate data into meaningful insights., • Experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Power BI, Tableau)., • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines. The Legal bits The salary range for this role is $117,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually, plus eligible for an annual target bonus prorated from the start date. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
