Job Summary The Academy Charter School Art Teacher understands and promotes the school’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Art Teacher will be responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school. Responsibilities and Duties • Use the state standards and curriculum to create a rigorous and objective-driven arts program, • Use technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication and ensure student engagement, • Eagerly learn new uses and applications of technology tools, • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create interdisciplinary units that teach grade level content knowledge and skills through the arts, • Promote students self-expression and exploration while deepening their knowledge and understanding of art, design and art history, • Incorporate art history in ways that are engaging and meaningful to students and objectives, • Measure student achievement and progress towards learning objectives using the school’s formative and summative assessment tools, • Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students on their progress towards meeting expectations and achieving goal, • Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and administrators, • Establish, involve, and assist students in the development, maintenance, and evaluation of portfolios Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $77,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Requirements: Qualifications and Skills • Minimum of 2 years of urban teaching experience required with a record of high student achievement, • Knowledge of art and design concepts, a variety of media and materials, and broad range of art history, • Possess broad range of knowledge in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, design, and construction, • Bachelors Degree required, • New York State Art Teacher Certification required

Job Summary: The teacher works to deepen students’ mastery of the English Language through reading, writing, speaking and listening. The teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering instruction to small groups students. The teacher will uphold the school’s mission to ensure that all students receive a world class education. Responsibilities and Duties • Teach a standards- based curriculum that incorporates the New York State English As A Second Language standards and the English Language Arts Standards, • Push-in classroom to differentiate instruction in English Language Arts, • Pull out classroom to provide ESL instruction in small groups., • Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials., • Incorporate the use of technology on an ongoing basis., • Provide interactive and meaningful learning material to students, maintaining positive learning environment for active participation of students, assigning homework, and conduct periodic assessments to measure student growth and progress., • Implement and deliver quality instruction to students that prepare students to pass the NYSESLAT., • Design the curriculum that challenges the learning ability of students and ensure overall development of language., • Engage students in problem solving, critical thinking and other activities that make subject matter meaningful.
