Job Description Shiloh is a community-based residential and day treatment program located near Pearland. Our facility is looking for a certified special education teacher (EC-12). We serve students who qualify for special educational services including, intellectually disabled, emotionally disturbed, and autism based on their full and individual evaluations (FIE). We are a TEA approved facility and follow all state and federal laws and guidelines regarding education. Working with local districts, we implement services identified in the student’s individual education plan (IEP). Our students all have severe challenges, and our goal is to reduce their barriers to progress, while providing a collaboratively therapeutic approach to address all needs, so they can return to a less restrictive educational setting successfully. • Work collaboratively with parents, students, school/community personnel in the development of clear, measurable IEP goals and objectives that are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), • Apply knowledge of human development and disabilities to plan and implement appropriate curriculum with appropriate accommodations, modifications, and adaptations, • Document ongoing student progress, retain and maintain accurate records, including but not limited to support and service logs, regular data collection on IEP targets and behavior (skill development and mastery) and progress updates, • Administer and analyze student assessment appropriately, including but not limited to state and district testing and informal criterion-referenced assessments, • Develop Present Levels of Academic And Functional Performance (PLAAFP) and annual goals/objectives based on the results of administered student assessments, • Prepare, organize, and implement lesson plans that are developmentally and age-appropriate based on student IEPs, including behavior intervention plans and accommodations/modifications of materials and curriculum, • Use appropriate adaptive and assistive technology as documented in the ARD and/or recommended by related service providers to facilitate learning, communication, mobility, and positioning, • Direct, train, assign and oversee the activities of an educational setting paraprofessional, aide, and provide input into performance evaluation process, • Ability to work well with children with disabilities, • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, • Conduct instructional or other professional activities consistent with the requirements of state and federal laws, • Safeguard confidentiality about students with disabilities, • English Proficiency: Proficiency in writing and speaking English, • Special Education Certification (Grade EC-12): Valid Texas Teacher Certificate issued by the State Board for Educator Certification, • General Education Certification: Valid Texas Teacher Certificate issued by the State Board for Educator Certification in a general education subject, • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with web-based and cloud applications to manage student curriculum and reporting We serve students who qualify for special educational services including, intellectually disabled, emotionally disturbed, and autism based on their full and individual evaluations (FIE).
