Job DescriptionHouse of MK (Phoenix, AZ) — Botanical Barista & Studio Front of House Associate Position Title: Botanical Barista & Studio FOH Associate (Front of House) Location: Phoenix, AZ Type: Part-time / Full-time (based on availability) Pay: $14.70/hour + tips (tips typically average $200–$600/week, based on shift, volume, and season; not guaranteed) Reports to: Studio Manager / FOH Lead About House of MK House of MK is a wellness-focused studio rooted in ritual, community, and intentional living. Job Summary The Botanical Barista & Studio FOH Associate is responsible for creating a warm, grounded, and professional experience for every guest—from first sip to final savasana. This role blends specialty tea, coffee, and botanical herbs with studio hospitality, supporting smooth class flow and a clean, beautiful space. You’ll shift seamlessly between beverage service, front desk operations, and maintaining the atmosphere that makes House of MK feel like a sanctuary. Core Responsibilities1) Botanical Bar Service: Tea, Coffee, & Herbal Beverage Craft • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, specialty teas, matcha, and botanical beverages, • Craft wellness-forward options (examples: herbal infusions, functional add-ins, seasonal tonics, aligned with House of MK’s menu and standards), • Confidently guide guests through the menu: ingredients, flavor notes, caffeine levels, and dietary considerations/allergens, • Maintain excellent speed and accuracy during peak times without sacrificing guest experience, • Operate and care for equipment (espresso machine, grinders, hot water systems, brewers), • Support prep/restock (tea batching, house syrups, ingredient organization, cups/lids, back-stock rotation)2) Studio Front Desk & Guest Experience, • Greet clients with presence and kindness; create a calm first impression, • Check guests into classes using booking software, • Answer questions about classes, teachers, memberships/packages, events, and studio etiquette, • Support smooth class transitions (timely check-ins, gentle direction for late arrivals, clear communication), • Help foster community—remembering names, celebrating regulars, and making newcomers feel at home3) Space Care, Reset, and Studio Flow, • Prepare the studio for class: basic setup support (props, lighting, temperature, overall readiness), • Keep the lobby, bar area, retail, studio spaces, and restrooms consistently clean and welcoming, • Support laundry duties as needed (towels, cleaning cloths), including folding/restocking, • Follow cleanliness + sanitation standards that match both food service and studio expectations, • Communicate supply needs and maintenance issues promptly to leadership4) Retail & Membership Support, • Support retail sales (wellness goods, studio essentials, featured seasonal items), • Share membership/package options with clarity and confidence (never pushy—always guest-centered), • Maintain tidy, visually appealing retail and bar displays What We’re Looking ForRequired Skills & Qualifications • Customer service strength: warm, attentive, and professional under pressure, • Ability to multitask between drink tickets + studio check-ins without losing the calm, • Comfort with POS systems and basic tech tools, • Reliable transportation and strong punctuality (this role impacts class start times), • Ability to maintain cleanliness standards throughout the shiftPreferred Experience, • 1+ year barista experience in specialty coffee, tea bar, or high-volume beverage service, • Interest in or experience with botanicals, herbal blends, adaptogens, or wellness hospitality, • Retail or membership sales experience in a studio, spa, or service-based environmentCertification, • Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain within a set timeframe) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Consistently excellent beverage quality + accuracy, • Efficient service that supports on-time class flow, • High standards of cleanliness across bar + studio spaces, • Positive guest feedback (welcoming energy, helpful guidance, calm environment), • Retail/membership support through informed, friendly conversations Physical Requirements • Standing for extended periods, moving between bar + studio areas, • Lifting up to ~30 lbs (restock, laundry, supplies), • Repetitive motions (espresso workflow, cleaning, stocking) Perks • Complimentary or discounted classes (based on policy/availability), • Employee discounts on beverages + retail, • Training and education around House of MK’s botanical menu and service style, • A supportive, community-centered work environment How to Apply Send: • Resume (or a short overview of relevant experience), • Your weekly availability (especially weekends + late nights if applicable) By applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
