Job Description Job Title: Rebar Laborer / Production Worker Job Description This long-term production role focuses on bending, cutting, bundling, and loading reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders in an indoor industrial environment. You will work with a variety of machines, tools, and equipment to fabricate rebar products, support shipping operations, and maintain a clean and safe workspace as part of a highly team-oriented crew. Responsibilities • Bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer orders and production specifications., • Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to precise lengths., • Operate a bending machine to form reinforcing steel bars into specified shapes., • Use an overhead crane to safely move, assemble, and select material for fabrication or shipping., • Operate a Fabmatic machine to cut and bend reinforcing steel bars into required shapes., • Assemble and load completed orders onto trailers for shipping, ensuring accuracy and secure placement., • Operate a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to designated lengths., • Use a spray gun to perform epoxy touch-up on reinforcing steel bars as needed., • Work collaboratively in a team environment to complete tasks efficiently and safely., • Maintain the shop and designated work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment., • Support general labor tasks as needed within the industrial facility. Essential Skills • Previous experience in construction or as a general laborer in an industrial environment., • Ability to work confidently with various hand tools and power tools., • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a semi-consistent basis., • Comfort working in a team-centric environment where tasks are completed collaboratively., • Experience with rebar work is a major plus., • Ability to operate or learn to operate overhead cranes safely., • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, measurements, and production requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in construction, general labor, or similar industrial roles., • Experience working with rebar and familiarity with fabrication processes., • Ability to use hand tools and power tools in a safe and effective manner., • Experience operating overhead cranes or willingness to be trained., • Exposure to blueprints or basic understanding of construction drawings is beneficial., • Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a production setting. The environment is highly team-centric, with tasks completed in close coordination with coworkers. The standard schedules are 1st shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. New employees follow a reduced-hour acclimation period: on the first day, they work 4 hours but are paid for 8 hours and will work 4–6 hours each day that week; during the second week, they work 6-hour days; during the third week, they work 8-hour days. After the third week, employees transition to the regular full schedule. Work involves operating industrial machinery and equipment in a structured, safety-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.
