Job Description Westminster University Assistant Professor of Practice of Finance Position Type: Faculty Full-Time Benefited Salary Range: $91,569 to $96,656 Work Location: Westminster University Campus 1840 South 1300 East Salt Lake City, UT 84105 Position Summary: Westminster University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice of Finance to begin August 2026. The Professor of Practice title is assigned to practitioners or experts in a field who have extensive practical experience with skills and expertise acquired in non-academic careers. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree, expertise and professional experience in finance, as well as a minimum of one year of higher education experience teaching finance courses. The primary focus of this position is on teaching undergraduate finance courses. Beyond teaching and administration, other responsibilities include advising students, engaging in service for the university and school, and scholarly research. We seek candidates who are focused on and committed to quality teaching in a learning-focused environment. This position is a 24-credit hour annual teaching assignment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate finance courses including Business Finance, Investments and Analysis, Business Analytics, and MBA-level courses in Finance and Quantitative Business Analytics. We are a small private comprehensive university with a liberal arts framework within our core curriculum. Beyond teaching, faculty responsibilities include advising/mentoring, working with students outside of the classroom, participating in co-curricular activities, and serving on shared governance committees. Application Instructions: To be considered, please submit a complete application that includes: • A cover letter addressing the specific requirements of the position, • A current CV, • Evidence of teaching effectiveness Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s in Finance or MBA, PhD in finance or related field, • 3 years of work experience in finance or teaching finance, • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills necessary for performing administrative responsibilities, including student advising, mentoring, curriculum development, and career coaching Preferred Qualifications: • Current professional licensure (e.g., CFA, CFP) or the ability to obtain such licensure., • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to working effectively with a diverse student population and community, • Demonstrated participation in scholarly, pedagogical, or professional development activities.
