About Our Kind Therapy Our Kind Therapy is a boutique, experiential, attachment-focused practice serving adults seeking real, lasting emotional and relational change. Our work is grounded in depth-oriented modalities like AEDP, ISTDP, EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, sex therapy, and creative approaches, with a focus on helping clients feel and work through emotions in real time. We work with people navigating intimacy, identity, culture, ambition, and complex relationships, and we believe therapy should be emotionally honest, relationally alive, and forward-moving. Our Hiring Mission We are building a small, selective team of therapists who value emotional courage, cultural nuance, and rigorous clinical work. This role is for clinicians energized by high-capacity adults navigating full, complex lives and seeking deeper emotional connection and change. We are focused on quality, depth, and sustainability rather than rapid growth or volume-driven care. Core Responsibilities Consultations and Caseload Management • Maintain a full caseload of 25–28 adult clients per week, • Provide individual and couples therapy using experiential, attachment-based approaches, • Conduct initial consultations and assess clinical fit, • Guide clients into appropriate care aligned with practice standards, • Actively participate in building and sustaining your caseload through referrals, professional visibility, and internal collaboration Supervision and Ongoing Clinical Growth • Attend weekly group supervision grounded in experiential, relational, and depth-oriented frameworks, • Use group supervision for clinical skill-building, case conceptualization, emotional processing, and reflective practice, • Access optional biweekly individual supervision with the Clinical Director or Executive Director as needed, • Engage in supervision to support deeper clinical development, complex case consultation, and long-term therapist sustainability Clinical Documentation and Operations • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, billing, and scheduling in SimplePractice, • Ensure operational consistency and compliance to support high standards of care, • Follow all company procedures related to documentation, communication, and clinical workflows, • Uphold all ethical, legal, and professional standards required for licensed practice in New York State Team Culture and Collaboration • Contribute to a warm, grounded, mission-driven team environment, • Participate in thoughtful case discussions and collaborative clinical dialogue, • Support a culture of emotional safety, accountability, and mutual respect Licensure & Clinical Experience • Fully licensed in New York State as LMHC-D, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT, • LMSWs and LCSWs cannot be considered at this time due to practice structure and licensing limitations, • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate clinical experience, • Experience and comfort working with both individuals and couples Clinical Orientation & Training • Grounded in attachment-based, relational, and experiential approaches to therapy, • Certification or active training in at least one experiential modality required, • Relevant modalities may include AEDP, EMDR, ISTDP, IMAGO, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, sex therapy, adult play or art therapy, and creative or somatic approaches, • Experience or interest in career-, financial-, or identity-focused therapy is welcome but not required Clinical Strengths • Emotionally steady, present, and warm in the therapy room, • Confident working at depth and engaging with emotional intensity and relational complexity, • Strong instincts for building strong clinical rapport with clients and experience in navigating rupture and repair in the therapeutic relationship, • Values collaborative learning and thoughtful clinical dialogue, • Committed to ongoing clinical refinement and growth, • Motivated by meaningful emotional change, not surface-level symptom management Benefits & Support • Weekly group supervision and access to optional biweekly individual supervision, • Leadership team grounded in curiosity, emotional intelligence, and clinical integrity, • $1,000 annual training stipend, • Potential pathways for future leadership roles, including supervisor or Clinical Director positions, • Hybrid work model with three to four days remote and one to two days in person, • Dedicated office space anticipated to open March 2026, • Typical schedule of six to eight-hour shifts, with flexibility to work four or five days per week while meeting caseload requirements, • A selective, relationally grounded clinical environment where clinicians help shape a practice known for depth, quality, and integrity How to Apply (Required) Applications must be submitted by email.
