Job Description Job Title: Batch Maker – 2nd Shift Job Description The Batch Maker on 2nd shift prepares, mixes, and packages liquid products according to established formulas and quality standards. This role reviews batch formulas, gathers and measures raw materials, operates mixing and production equipment, and ensures that all batches are produced safely, accurately, and on time. The position works Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment focused on soap and related liquid products. Responsibilities • Review assigned formulas for chemical and packaging requirements, ensuring the correct sequence of reactions and mixing steps., • Complete assigned batches within the allotted time while following established production schedules., • Retrieve ingredients as indicated on the formula, confirming that only quality-control-approved materials are used., • Accurately measure ingredients and record any substitutions, over-pours, or deviations, obtaining supervisor approval when required., • Follow good manufacturing practices and guidelines throughout the batching and packaging process., • Monitor equipment and observe production during the entire batch process to maintain product quality and consistency., • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to gather and move raw materials as needed., • Take ownership of material availability and promptly notify the warehouse or supervisor of any missing raw materials required to complete a batch., • Package approved batches and correctly label all finished product containers according to specifications., • Stock supplies and label containers of raw materials when needed to support continuous production., • Use equipment that is in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance on equipment as required., • Clean, sanitize, and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment to maintain hygiene and product integrity., • Complete end-of-day procedures, including restocking raw materials, housekeeping tasks, and controlling and documenting production waste., • Maintain a clean and safe work area and strictly adhere to safety regulations and procedures, including understanding the hazards of handling various chemicals., • Train new operators and mixers on processes, equipment, and safety practices, and assist in other areas of the plant when needed., • Observe all safety rules and procedures while performing duties, including following lockout/tagout procedures when working with equipment., • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with liquid production experience highly preferred., • Hands-on experience as a mixer, blender, batch maker, batch mixer, or in a similar compounding role., • Experience with machine operation in a production setting., • Ability to follow detailed batch formulas and recipes with a high level of accuracy., • Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and adjusting ingredient quantities., • Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks or willingness to learn and follow all safety procedures., • Strong attention to detail when measuring, recording, and labeling materials and finished products., • Ability to follow good manufacturing practices and written standard operating procedures., • Commitment to safety, including understanding and following lockout/tagout procedures and chemical handling guidelines. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MEMPHIS, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
