This Post-Surgical setting cares for patients that have undergone colorectal and urologic surgery. The nursing staff will work closely with the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses for ostomy and wound care needs. RNs will also care for post-operative patients with TPN, NG tubes, and central lines. Treating patients 0-21 years of age experiencing, but not limited to, respiratory illness, trauma, sepsis, neurological disorders and diabetic ketoacidosis. The PICU also cares for patients who require complex surgical intervention that includes neurosurgery and pediatric open-heart surgery.
