Job Summary: The OSP Inspector 1 must have a great deal of drive, motivation, discipline, confidence, and the ability to work independently. You must be deadline-oriented with strong assessment and planning skills along with knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, OSHA safety standards, right of way, and permit acquisition. Well-versed in OSP industry standards and adheres to project-specific, local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Proficient with as-built schematics, dry utility plans, plats, and diagrams. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Inspection and Monitoring: Oversee the construction of OSP facilities, including underground, buried, and aerial plant installations, to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications., • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with OSHA / State/ Local / and Industry standards., • Ensure that internal documentation matches the completed requirements, • Report issues, lack of documentation, and compliance issues to Project Manager, • Coordination: Work closely with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to address any issues that arise during construction., • Training: Assist in developing and implementing training programs to ensure team members are knowledgeable and skilled. Qualifications: • Experience: Typically, 7+ years of experience in OSP construction and inspection., • Knowledge: Strong understanding of underground construction practices and industry standards., • Skills: Ability to read and interpret construction documents, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail., • Certifications: Relevant certifications in telecommunications or construction inspection may be required. Other Requirements: • Valid Driver’s License, • Demonstrated ability to work outside in all weather conditions, • Willingness to attend company-provided training, • Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check, • Organized – Can conduct multiple activities at once and stay on track while managing resources, maintaining files, and being able to speak to activities., • Problem Solving – Able to use different analysis methods and brainstorming to determine logical solutions., • Process Management – Understands the best applicable processes/practices to achieve timely and efficient results., • Timely Decision Making – Able to decide under pressure or without all the information if needed., • Measuring Performance – Assigns roles/responsibilities to employees then follows up on progress and results., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions., • Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision., • Thorough knowledge of MS Office 365 suite., • Database, customer tracking systems experience a plus., • Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings. Extensive experience with SiteTracker or similar project management software., • Thorough understanding of TIA and ISO standards., • Comfortable with OTDR and OLTS testing as well as general acceptance testing standards, • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 desired., • CPR/First Aid Certification desired., • Roadside Worker Safety Certification a plus.
