Job Description Job Title: Material Handler (1st Shift) Job Description This role supports a modern manufacturing facility by safely moving, storing, and tracking raw materials, parts, and finished products to keep production running smoothly. You will operate material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure materials are delivered to the right locations on time, all while following strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities • Transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility to designated areas, including the production floor, warehouse, and shipping zones., • Supply production lines with required materials to meet manufacturing schedules and prevent interruptions in production., • Assist with inventory control by performing regular cycle counts and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor promptly., • Properly label, organize, and store materials in assigned locations to optimize space and ensure easy accessibility., • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines and procedures., • Load and unload shipments efficiently while ensuring materials are handled and stored correctly., • Use RF scanners to accurately track materials moving in and out of inventory and record storage locations within the facility., • Document and track material locations and stock levels to ensure adequate inventory and avoid shortages., • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area by following safety procedures and OSHA regulations., • Identify and immediately report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or process concerns to the supervisor., • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and warehouse staff, to coordinate material flow and resolve issues., • Follow established work instructions, company policies, and quality standards while adapting to changing priorities as needed. Essential Skills • Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or HVAC-related environment., • Proficiency in using RF scanners to track inventory movements and storage locations., • Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment., • Ability to document and track material storage locations and stock levels accurately., • High school diploma or equivalent education., • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when managing materials and inventory records., • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment., • Capability to lift, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods while performing material handling tasks., • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and production needs., • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and team members., • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds safely and repeatedly., • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to handle materials and operate equipment safely. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with EPICOR is a plus., • Knowledge of HVAC systems or manufacturing processes is an advantage., • Experience in an industrial or sheet metal fabrication environment is beneficial., • Comfort working with industry 4.0 technology and modern manufacturing systems., • Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production schedules. Work Environment This position is based in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and industry 4.0 technology. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 5 PM to 3 AM, with the expectation of being open to overtime as needed. The environment includes production, warehouse, and shipping areas where forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and ERP systems such as EPICOR are used to manage materials and inventory. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, as well as climbing portable ladders. You must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds and perform tasks requiring good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, and the facility operates under OSHA and safety guidelines, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices throughout the workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
