The position will strategically manage the warehouse, re-pack area and janitorial staff in compliance with company policy and vision. Manager is directly responsible for receiving, warehousing and distribution operations and overseeing the efficient and timely flow of all materials throughout the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Establish, coordinate and enforce operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming shipments, handling and disposition of materials, managing and monitoring inventory, and verification of shipment., • Assess the availability of space and prepare stacking/storage plans prior to commodities arrival., • Organize and plan for current and long-term goals along with having a contingency plan for unpredictable outcomes., • Coordinate warehouse with activities such as sorting, re-packing, processing, purchasing, sales, and shipping., • Manage stock control and reconcile with the computer system (Research inventory discrepancies and apply corrective actions)., • Assign tasks appropriately using all resources and support available to meet or exceed productivity and quality standards, and appraise the results., • Oversee the HR principles such as hiring, termination, discipline and enforcement of employment policies and procedures; must coach and motivate employees., • Walk warehouse and grounds daily to identify sanitation issues and address., • Write schedule 3 weeks out for warehouse and janitorial staff based on seasonal and holiday staffing requirements; coordinate use of available vacation time., • Working knowledge of security camera system; available to locate specific time and place on camera feed when required., • Check daily piece count reports, • Sign off on route sheets, • Check all routes after invoicing., • Check Time Sheets daily and correct as needed; maintain Sick/Vacation calendars for all 3 department employees., • Maintain Food Safety books for audits., • Monitor physical condition of the warehouse, ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met, and prepare work orders for repairs., • Ensure Safety Training is completed for all warehouse personnel and documented in Training Logs., • Must follow good manufacturing practices, • Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Four years in the warehouse industry with at least two years in progressive management role, • Fresh produce experience preferred, • Prefer knowledge of Cold Chain Management, • Prefer knowledge of basic employment laws, hiring, termination, discipline and performance coaching, • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual, • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact tactfully and effectively with all business operators and diverse company personnel, • Must have computer skills, including creating spreadsheets and inputting data, • Record keeping, math and accounting skills WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: • Must be available for emergencies, • Requires prolonged sitting or standing, • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull and push heavy objects or material, • Occasional lifting/moving boxes up to 75 pounds, • Some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching, and significant fine finger dexterity, • Ability to work in 34-to 40-degree temperatures for significant periods of time, • Noise level is moderate to noisy Eligible candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen and continue to satisfy our drug testing policy, if offered employment.
