Are you ready to lead the digital transformation to create a more sustainable world? If you are up to challenge your creativity and make an impact, we are excited to welcome you! Schneider Electric is developing its innovative asset performance management (APM) solution. The solution includes the collection and structuring of customer data, the calculation of an asset condition index, a restitution in the customer information system and a complete risk assessment framework allowing assets monitoring and optimization of the maintenance plan. The Product Solution a core backend common to all customers, data-oriented, developed in Python. a data-visualization front-end module based on the latest web technologies, React based. various connectors to interface the customer's systems into its information system. Developed on request by the support team, and the development team according to the specificities of the customer system. APM Application Engineer The Application Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) plays a critical role in shaping the accuracy, quality, and effectiveness of advanced asset analytics used within modern electrical grid management solutions. This role provides deep expertise in electrical systems, asset lifecycles, failure modes, maintenance practices, and diagnostics to ensure the software reflects real-world conditions encountered by utilities and grid operators. As a technical authority, the SME bridges the gap between engineering domain knowledge and product development teams. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance the asset model library for electrical assets. Build and update the maintenance recommendation library informed by real-world asset behavior. Validate and calibrate asset analytics to ensure outputs accurately reflect field conditions. Participate in feature design for areas such as fire risk analytics , composite asset, and lifecycle cost analysis. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define system behavior, functional requirements, and user stories. Review analytical models and simulations to ensure realistic assumptions and operational relevance. Provide technical insights to develop advanced asset analytics leveraging different data sources such as drone, weather forecasts, thermal monitoring and IT/OT systems. Evaluate field feedback from interventions and propose updates to health scoring and asset parameters. Participate in customer meetings to provide deeps subject-matter expertise, clarify technical or functional requirements, ensuring alignment between customer needs and solution capabilities. Guide iterative testing, validation cycles, and continuous improvement of analytics and recommendations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related technical field. 5+ years of experience working with electrical grid assets, operations, or maintenance. Strong understanding of electrical asset lifecycle management and equipment failure modes, with demonstrated ability to apply practical, industry‑standard asset‑management principles to real‑world electrical assets and operational environments. Hands-on experience with diagnostics and condition monitoring tools (e.g., DGA, partial discharge, thermal monitoring) and the ability to interpret results as part of the asset health and risk assessment processes. Ability to analyze and validate predictive models and technical outputs. Familiarity with utility operational workflows, maintenance planning, and field execution. Ability to write clear technical requirements and communicate complex concepts to cross-functional teams. Experience working in agile development environments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related specialization. 8+ years of utility, OEM, or grid operations engineering experience. Expertise in transformer analytics (e.g., Duval methods, Roger’s ratio, pentagon/triangle diagnostics). Experience with predictive modeling and simulation for future risk forecasting. Prior involvement in building asset model templates or rule-based maintenance libraries. Familiarity with composite asset structures and hierarchical asset modeling. Experience contributing to software development or product design teams. Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks influencing asset investment planning. Strong ability to influence roadmap decisions through technical justification. The Application Engineer (SME) provides essential domain expertise to develop and validate advanced analytics, asset models, and diagnostic capabilities for electrical grid management software. This role ensures the accuracy, reliability, and operational relevance of features that directly support maintenance planning, risk forecasting, and investment decisions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the SME shapes system behavior, calibrates analytical models, and contributes to high-impact roadmap items.
