Scope As a Senior Buyer specialising in Transport and Logistics, you will play a key strategic role in managing and optimising inbound and outbound transportation activities across global networks. The role focuses on delivering cost efficiency, service excellence, and operational performance through data‑driven decision‑making, Artificial Intelligence‑enabled tools, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong partnership development with logistics suppliers. You will manage critical supplier relationships while balancing commercial, operational, quality, legal, and financial objectives to support overall business performance, resilience, and profitability. Key Responsibilities • Lead strategic sourcing activities for inbound parts transport and outbound finished vehicle distribution across multiple transport modes (road, rail, intermodal), applying data‑driven analysis to optimise cost, service, and network performance., • Manage end‑to‑end RFQ/RFI processes in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, using analytical insights and digital tools to negotiate competitive, value‑creating contracts., • Leverage Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics solutions to enhance market intelligence, supplier evaluation, cost modelling, and decision‑making in transport procurement., • Develop, manage, and continuously optimise a strategic supplier portfolio, ensuring high performance through structured governance, KPI monitoring, and fact‑based performance reviews., • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with logistics partners, focusing on productivity, quality, service reliability, innovation, and cost optimisation., • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual commitments, service level agreements, and performance targets, while proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities., • Actively lead partnership development with key logistics providers, fostering long‑term collaboration, transparency, innovation, and joint value creation., • Contribute to the digital transformation of transport purchasing by promoting data‑driven, AI‑supported, and standardised sourcing practices. Candidate Profile • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field., • 3–10 years of experience in transport procurement, logistics sourcing, strategic purchasing, or automotive supply chain environments, with demonstrated results delivered through data‑driven approaches and continuous improvement., • Strong knowledge of transport and logistics operations, ideally within automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors., • Proficiency in digital sourcing and analytical tools such as Excel, Access, Coupa, and Power BI, with exposure to Artificial Intelligence or advanced analytics applications considered a strong advantage., • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, contract management, and performance management supported by structured data analysis.
