Genoskin is a life science company with operations in Toulouse, France, and Salem, MA, dedicated to reducing the risks associated with drug, vaccine, medical device, and cosmetic development through advanced non-clinical testing solutions. We operate a hybrid business model, combining CRO services with the manufacturing of proprietary human skin models and primary human mast cells. Our bio-stabilized, immunocompetent, and injectable skin platforms, together with our immune cell systems, offer early access to high-quality human data. These technologies serve as reliable, ethical alternatives to animal testing, supporting more predictive and sustainable research and development. To deliver high-impact results, we integrate our biological platforms with cutting-edge analytical technologies—including next-generation transcriptomics, multiplexed proteomics, flow cytometry, spatial biology, and advanced bioinformatics—to generate actionable insights that accelerate therapeutic development while reducing cost, time, and risk. Mission Within our Toulouse-based laboratory, the Senior Associate Scientist will work in an interdisciplinary team (with biologist, bio-informatician and data scientist) to generate transcriptomics data. Main Activities The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting transcriptomic analyses from RNA extraction to library preparation for sequencing. This includes ensuring sample quality, following standardized protocols, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the process. RNA Extraction and Quality Control • Extract total RNA or mRNA from various biological materials (cells, tissues, model organisms, etc.)., • Assess RNA quality, purity, and quantity using instruments such as Nanodrop, Qubit, and Bioanalyzer/Tapestation., • Maintain meticulous experimental records and ensure data traceability. RNA-seq Library Preparation • Prepare sequencing libraries for RNA-seq (e.g., polyA selection, ribosomal RNA depletion, small RNA protocols)., • Work with commercial library preparation kits (e.g., Illumina, NEB) and adapt protocols according to project requirements., • Perform quality control of libraries prior to sequencing (quantification, size distribution, electropherogram analysis). Sequencing Coordination and Sample Management • Prepare and ship libraries to sequencing facilities, ensuring proper documentation and labeling., • Maintain sample and reagent traceability across all experimental stages., • Liaise with sequencing platforms to coordinate runs and ensure high-quality data generation. Participation to ex vivo skin experiment • Prepare and administer treatment to the ex vivo models., • Perform model sampling. Laboratory Management and Documentation • Participate in routine lab maintenance and reagent inventory management., • Write and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Adhere to GLP and ISO9001-2015 standards, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, and contribute to the quality approach by drafting quality documents, operating procedures, instructions, etc., • Collaborate actively with other colleagues departments, marketing, sales and operations in developing new offers and associated technical content.
