Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum, • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher attainment, • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing, • Work collaboratively with parallel class teachers and teaching assistants to ensure continuity across the week, • Contribute to medium- and long-term planning within the year group, • Maintain high expectations of behaviour in line with the school’s policies, • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing, • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as appropriate to the role, • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times Person Specification Essential: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, • Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum, including phonics and early maths, • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons, • Effective classroom management skills, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Desirable: • Experience teaching in both Year 1 and Year 2, • Knowledge of phonics schemes, • Experience working in a job-share or part-time teaching role, • Understanding of assessment frameworks within KS1 Additional Information • This is a 2.5-day per week position; working days may vary depending on staffing needs and will be agreed in advance, • The role may involve a job-share arrangement with another teacher, • Planning and handover time will be essential to ensure continuity of learning, • The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check
