About the Role We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to support the servicing, overhaul, and repair of aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) and associated tooling. This role is split between our workshop facility and customer sites across the UK. You will carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair activities, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational within demanding aviation environments. While hydraulic knowledge is advantageous, this position is primarily mechanically focused, involving strip-downs, rebuilds, inspections, and general engineering maintenance. Key Responsibilities • Deliver planned maintenance activities to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling, including but not limited to steps, platforms, trailers, trolleys, tow bars, and jacks, • Carry out repairs to equipment in order to ensure equipment returns to service in a timely manner, • Effectively fault find and problem solve a variety of issues on all types of equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, • Collect and deliver customer equipment to and from various sites across our network, • Work as part of a wider engineering team, • Generate reports using our online system, • Support work activities at other airports or sites as required (UK and abroad), including but not limited to completing works on customer sites as well as our own facilities, • Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately, • Communicate with the Operations Team effectively, ensuring emails are responded to in a timely manner and calls are answered or returned as soon as practically and safely possible Essential Skills & Experience • Strong background in mechanical maintenance and repair, • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), • Confident in mechanical fault finding and diagnostics, • Experience working on-site at customer premises, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, • Good understanding of safe working practices, • Full manual UK driving licence (essential for site visits), • Ability to use a tablet to complete maintenance report write ups, • Experience working with aircraft ground support equipment, • Hydraulic maintenance experience, • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance, • Experience with lifting equipment inspections (LOLER knowledge beneficial) You will be: • Mechanically minded and hands-on, • Customer-focused with good communication skills, • Organised and able to manage site-based responsibilities, • Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail, • Competitive salary (dependent on experience), • Overtime and site allowance opportunities, • Company vehicle (if applicable), • Company pension scheme, • Ongoing technical training and development, • Health Cash Plan
