Position: SHEQ Advisor Location: Cambridge & Surrounding Areas Salary: up to £50,000 + Car / Car Allowance An established and growing Civil Engineering contractor is seeking a SHE Advisor to join their Eastern region on a permanent basis. The role will involve a split between office-based duties and regular site visits across Cambridge and the wider surrounding areas. You will play a key role in maintaining high SHE standards across multiple live projects while supporting operational teams and senior management. SHEQ Advisor Salary & Benefits • Salary upto £50,000 DOE, • Company car or car allowance, • Discretionary bonus scheme, • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising with service), • Long service awards, • Pension contributions (employer 3.5%), • Employee Assistance Programme (access to same-day GP, mental health, physio and more), • Healthy Living Policy (gym membership contributions after probation), • Hours: 07:30 – 16:30, • Long-term career progression within a growing regional business SHEQ Advisor Job Overview • NEBOSH, IOSH or another recognised Health & Safety qualification, • Proven experience working as a SHEQ / Health & Safety Advisor within construction, • Experience within civil engineering, groundworks or residential projects (advantageous), • Ability to work independently while contributing to wider regional and company objectives, • Strong audit, reporting and compliance monitoring skills, • IT literate with good written and verbal communication skills, • Full UK driving licence SHEQ Advisor Job Requirements • Provide professional advice and support to senior management and site teams on SHE, • Attend pre-commencement and pre-start meetings to contribute to early project planning and risk management, • Assist with statutory notices and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, • Escalate serious breaches of company policy, procedures or legislation to senior management, • Promote and embed a positive Health & Safety culture across the business, • Support the Regional SHEQ Manager with the development of SHEQ strategies and internal policies, • Produce, review and communicate RAMS, • Carry out planned site inspections, audits and ensure follow-up actions are completed, • Identify training needs and deliver site-based training and toolbox talks, • Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, producing reports and recommendations, • Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and other applicable statutory requirements
