Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering Location: Scotland Permanent Salary: £80,000-£100,000+ DOE + tax-free subsistence + benefits package Ref: GR1496 Gibson Recruitment Limited Job Description: Multi-national Civil Engineering contractor who, due to the award of prestigious new contracts in Scotland, have a requirement for a CONTRACTS MANAGER to join their team. The business typically undertakes large scale infrastructure works, and this fantastic opportunity presents a perfect time to join as they expand their operations in Scotland. The successful CONTRACTS MANAGER will be responsible for overseeing the management of the projects to ensure their safe and efficient delivery, while adding value to the business. The post-holder will also need to support the work winning function of the business and be able to undertake Client engagement meetings, track opportunities and support tender submissions. The role holder will be responsible for growth within Scotland with the opportunity for career development and promotion. Applicants MUST be based in Scotland and, due to the nature of work, be willing to work away from home (within Scotland) when necessary. Responsibilities: · Provide leadership, oversight and support to construction teams to ensure all projects are properly resourced and delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. · Communicate project objectives, requirements, and stakeholder expectations clearly, ensuring full understanding across all project participants. · Lead, motivate and guide internal site teams as well as external consultants and supply chain partners involved in project delivery and tender support activities. · Champion excellence in safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ), promoting continuous improvement and ensuring all statutory and company requirements are met. · Ensure all projects operate in full compliance with company policies, procedures, and delegated authority levels. · Lead, review and challenge project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to achieve a robust, deliverable, and commercially sound approach. · Advise the Managing Director on project scheduling, progress, risks and opportunities, and present clear action plans and updates to key clients and stakeholders. · Oversee legacy projects to close-out, ensuring defects, warranty items and bond obligations are completed efficiently. · Identify work-winning opportunities, collaborating with the Director to engage effectively with clients. · Support tender submissions with programme advice, technical input, buildability reviews, and local supply chain insights. · Provide expert support to project teams, applying a strong understanding of construction processes, technology, and delivery methods. · Implement the Business Management System and ensure robust monitoring, control processes, and compliance with all legal and statutory project requirements. · Allocate competent and appropriate resources to project management activities to ensure successful delivery. · Promote and drive service excellence, best practice, and continuous improvement initiatives across all projects. · Coach, mentor, and motivate project teams, setting clear expectations and leading by example. · Apply an effective performance management framework to maximise team capability and outcomes. · Ensure all construction projects are designed, constructed, and certified to the required technical, legal and safety standards. They are seeking an Electronics Technician who is passionate about electronic systems and solving complex technical challenges. Full-Time, Permanent role working onsite their office in Glasgow. This is a great opportunity for an Electronics Technician who aspires to work for a Space Company. Previous Space sector experience is not required, but the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electronic systems and components, a working knowledge of embedded systems (including microcontrollers and IoT devices), and ideally experience in a cleanroom-rated environment. In this role, you will play a key part in the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and equipment that form the foundation of next-generation products. You will collaborate closely with engineers across electronics, systems, and mechanical disciplines in an agile, team-oriented environment where technical excellence, precision, and continuous improvement are highly valued. Job Purpose Support the development, assembly, integration, and testing of electronic systems and components for advanced technology platforms, ensuring their functionality, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities Collaboration and Support • Work closely with engineers, scientists, and fellow technicians to support a variety of projects and programmes., • Provide technical assistance and support during development, integration, and testing activities. Harness Assembly • Assemble, test, and install wiring harnesses for electronic systems., • Ensure all harnesses meet technical specifications and quality standards. Mechanical Assembly • Assemble mechanical components and structures for electronic systems., • Ensure precise alignment and secure fastening of all mechanical parts. Electronics Assembly • Produce printed circuit assemblies through hand soldering of electronic components, primarily SMT devices, using microscopes and specialist equipment., • Verify the integrity and functionality of assembled electronic systems. Cleaning and Bonding • Perform thorough cleaning of electronic and mechanical components and completed assemblies., • Stake electronic components and bond mechanical assemblies to achieve high reliability., • Ensure chemicals, adhesives, and epoxies are stored, applied, and replenished correctly. Integration and Testing • Integrate electronic and mechanical systems into complete assemblies., • Conduct comprehensive testing to verify functionality and reliability., • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing. Maintenance and Repair • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory and production equipment., • Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and components as required. Required Qualifications • Higher National Certificate (HNC), National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. Required Experience • 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with electronic systems and components., • Working knowledge of embedded systems, including microcontrollers and IoT devices., • Experience in a laboratory or production environment conducting testing and evaluation of electronic systems., • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment for testing and fault finding., • Experience assembling and integrating electronic and mechanical systems., • Strong skills in harness assembly, mechanical assembly, and electronics assembly., • Experience maintaining and repairing electronic systems and laboratory equipment., • Ability to maintain detailed technical records and produce reports., • Experience working in a cleanroom-rated environment is highly desirable.
