Registered Manager – Children’s EBD Home Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire Up to £60k package DOE We’re looking for an exceptional Registered Manager to take the reins of a brand-new Children’s EBD home, guiding it through the SC1 registration process and beyond. Your role will be to take full responsibility for the establishment, compliance, and operational readiness ensuring the home is prepared to meet all regulatory, safeguarding, and quality standards prior to the admission of children. Key Roles and Responsibilities • Lead on the development and submission of the home’s Statement of Purpose and ensure compliance with Ofsted registration requirements, • Establish robust policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the home is fully compliant with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, • Oversee the design, furnishing, and equipping of the home, ensuring it provides a safe, nurturing, and homely environment, • Recruit, induct, and train the staff team, ensuring they have the skills, values, and resilience required to work effectively with children with EBD, • Build strong relationships with placing authorities, commissioners, and local safeguarding boards to prepare for future referrals, • Ensure that safeguarding policies and risk management frameworks are in place, with staff trained in their responsibilities, • Prepare for Ofsted pre-registration visits, inspections, and interviews, demonstrating readiness to lead the home effectively, • Set up robust monitoring and auditing systems to evaluate quality, compliance, and readiness for operation, • Provide leadership, guidance, and clear direction to the team during the home’s development phase, establishing a culture of therapeutic care, professionalism, and accountability What we are looking for • An experienced Registered Manager or experienced Deputy Manager ready for the next step, • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards), • Solid understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care standards, • Strong leadership skills with a track record of delivering excellent outcomes for children If you’re ready to lead with passion and create a home that truly changes lives, we want to hear from you.
