Assistant / Trainee Manager Role: Trace Heating Assistant Manager Location: Sheffield Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Sector: Electrical / Industrial Services – Trace Heating Salary: JIB Rate (Dependent on Qualifications) + Benefits The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated electrician to step into a Trace Heating Assistant Manager position within a growing division. This role offers a blend of hands-on electrical work, project supervision, and design involvement. You will support the full lifecycle of trace heating projects—from initial survey and design through to installation, testing, and client handover. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress into a more senior, technical, and managerial role. Training will be provided where required. Key Responsibilities • Conduct site surveys to assess scope of works, • Identify pipework, equipment, and systems requiring trace heating, • Assist in the design of trace heating systems, • Prepare accurate and detailed quotations, • Manage and oversee on-site project delivery, • Supervise installation and testing of trace heating systems, • Raise Technical Queries (TQs) with clients when required, • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards, • Liaise directly with clients to maintain high service levels, • Attend site meetings with clients and contractors, • Support the growth and development of the trace heating division, • Assist in planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple projects What’s on Offer • Competitive salary aligned with JIB rates, • Birthday off, • Mobile phone or allowance, • Pension scheme with company contributions, • Ongoing training & development, • Clear career progression within the trace heating division, • Option for a company vehicle Requirements • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation, • Full UK Driving Licence, • Strong practical installation background, • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (or willingness to learn), • Well-organised, methodical, and detail-oriented, • Strong communication and client-facing skills, • Willingness to travel across the UK (particularly Northwest region), • Flexibility to work occasional weekends depending on project needs Qualifications • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (Essential), • Additional industry certifications (desirable but not essential)
