    APPLY BY CV AND COVERING LETTER. We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Drama Practitioner / Interactive Storyteller specialising in Early Years KS1/2 education. This role involves inspiring young children through creative storytelling and drama activities. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with babies and children's through and will be committed to delivering engaging interactive story sessions that promote learning, confidence, and enjoyment. We are advertising for a post due to expansion of our business. We are looking for energetic, reliable and professional practitioners wo can demonstrate initiative and creativity across a variety of children’s groups. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a drama practitioner or similar, a genuine interest in and experience of working with babies and young children (up to the age of 11 years old), a love of stories, good storytelling skills and excellent English. This position would suit someone who is already working freelance and has capacity for further work, or a suitable individual who has an evening job/commitment and is looking to develop their delivery hours during the day. Resting actors who cannot commit need not apply. In the first instance we are looking for after school club cover for 2 afternoons a week in the Lincoln area, so applicants must be available between 3pm and 5pm Mon to Thurs. But this is with the intention of developing further classes in the week and has the potential for the right candidate to generate their own sessions also. Sessions are usually 45mins to 1 hour in length and as there will be minimum hours initially, The position will require for candidates to be living in, or very near to, Lincoln and/or Retford as these will be the main areas of delivery. We also require candidates to be registered as self employed, have a full UK driving licence and their own transport and an enhanced DBS Successful applicants will receive competitive rates of pay, Debutots story training, session plans and ongoing support and advice in delivery. Responsibilities • Deliver interactive story sessions tailored to Early Years KS1/2 age groups, encouraging active participation and imaginative play., • Utilise storytelling techniques to captivate children’s interest and enhance their language development., • Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of children, ensuring a safe, positive, and stimulating environment., • Maintain a lively, organised, and welcoming atmosphere during all sessions. Skills • Proficiency in performance based activities to animate stories effectively., • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to command attention and inspire young audiences., • Experience in teaching or working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of developmental stages., • Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues, parents, and children alike., • Creativity in developing innovative storytelling techniques that captivate early learners., • Ability to work confidently within a team while also demonstrating initiative independently.
