About the Company We are a growing family owned and operated business that has been manufacturing steel doors for over 20 years. With year on year growth in the double digits for the last 3 years, we are looking to continue that growth to achieve our aims of doubling turnover in the coming years. About the Role The Head of Sales - Trade is responsible for developing and executing the trade sales strategy to drive revenue growth, strengthen key customer relationships, and expand market share across our trade business. Critical to the role, is ensuring the Sales team are equipped with the correct skills and techniques to ensure they have maximum impact in the market and chance to succeed. In the day to day, you will be coaching the sales team, who are very self sufficient and bringing the remote team together mainly virtually to manage the team priorities and build an effective atmosphere where they are equipped and able to achieve the ambitious growth plans. There are 2 head office based members of the team and a further 6 based in the regions close to their customers. Some travel will be required to meet the team and customers, and there are monthly sales meetings at Middlesbrough where the team travel to attend. Responsibilities • Lead and manage all aspects of trade sales performance nationally., • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets., • Build and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners, distributors, and commercial clients., • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product teams to align trade strategies with overall business goals., • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge., • Drive sales forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management., • Coach and develop the trade sales team to deliver exceptional performance and customer service. Qualifications • Experience in sales within the construction industry (preferably doors), • Proven experience leading teams to achieve their targets, • Demonstrated success in developing and managing key trade accounts and distribution networks., • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or construction-related industries (preferred)., • Proven track record in achieving sales growth and profitability targets., • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred)., • Additional certifications in Sales Leadership, Strategic Management, or similar disciplines are advantageous. Required Skills • Strong strategic planning and commercial acumen., • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams., • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills., • Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical and reporting abilities., • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Proficiency in CRM and sales management tools., • Confident and influential leader with strong interpersonal presence., • Results-oriented and proactive, with a drive for continuous improvement., • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively across departments., • Integrity-driven with a customer-first mindset., • Strategic thinker who can also execute tactically when needed. Preferred Skills • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or construction-related industries (preferred).
