For over 35 years, we’ve worked with the public, police, and a wide range of partners to ensure vital information gets to where it’s needed - helping to solve and prevent crime, protect communities, and save lives. We’re now looking for a Head of Marketing and Communications to lead and shape the vital function that sits within the role. This is a senior strategic role at the heart of the organisation, whilst still allowing the post holder to stretch creatively. You’ll be responsible for building national campaigns, leading our communications strategy, overseeing our brand, and ensuring our message reaches the right people including the public, law enforcement and commercial clients and partners. This is more than a brand role. It’s about driving real-world impact and action; helping people feel confident to share what they know about crime, supporting victims, and promoting positive change. Crimestoppers operates in a complex landscape of public safety, corporate partnerships, and digital innovation and so knowledge of the commercial world is key. You’ll need to balance creativity with accountability, public interest with stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. We’re looking for someone with strong leadership experience across marketing, media, digital, and strategic communications, ideally in a high-profile or sensitive environment whether this be not-for-profit or otherwise. You’ll need to be comfortable managing teams and budgets, influencing at senior management team level, and working across different sectors. The events portfolio is made up of conferences, awards, and exhibitions taking place primarily in the UK & a few internationally. Overall Purpose of the Role: As an Event Executive you are part of an enthusiastic and busy event operations team, running B2B conferences, exhibitions, and award ceremonies. Your role is key to the successful execution of our events portfolio. You should have a love for events, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers. You will have operational responsibility from concept to delivery, using creativity and a keen eye for detail along with the ability to multi-task to deliver industry-leading events. Key Responsibilities: • Working alongside the Event Manager and team in the overall planning, execution and commercial viability of a variety of annual events on behalf of emap’s B2B brands., • Researching suitable entertainment for events., • Working with the Event Manager and the brand to produce high-quality event collateral, including thorough checking of all copy, e.g. agendas, websites, booking forms, tickets, programmes, etc., • Liaising with the production/AV supplier in pre-production and assisting with all aspects of the staging requirements for the events., • Providing outstanding customer service with all external and internal stakeholders, via written and verbal communication., • Performing all the administrative tasks associated with events, including database management., • Building strong relationships with suppliers, including AV teams, venues, entertainers, etc, negotiating to ensure the best value is achieved and co-ordinating the production of all event signage with the appropriate logos/messages, etc., • Assisting in selecting menus, room layouts and table plans., • On-site event support – specific responsibilities are allocated by the Event Manager, including overseeing the production team, briefing and liaising with venue staff, co-ordination of sponsors, managing registration, ensuring table plans are correct and adhered to, etc., • Sharing best practice across the team., • Website & comms proofing Skills and Experience: • Educated to degree level or equivalent – preferred but not essential.
