ATG INSPIRE Creative Practitioner (Freelance) Fee: £35 per hour / £175 day rate With circa 2,000 seats, Sunderland Empire is the largest seated theatre between Manchester and Edinburgh. A grade II listed building from the Edwardian era, with an exquisite Rococo interior, it hosts an exciting and high-profile programme, from the latest West End musicals and the most spectacular Disney shows, to community performances, rooted in the city and serving the north of England. The Creative Learning department engages local adults, children, and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds through our work in schools, our regular weekly programme of classes and our community projects. You will also benefit from the support of Sunderland Empire Theatre Trust who champion our work. The ATG INSPIRE Creative Practitioner Role ATG INSPIRE teams are passionate, multi-faceted and talented individuals. Staff are innovative in their approach to ATG INSPIRE delivery and coordination, consciously ensuring that the local programme responds to the needs and opportunities of the area with ingenuity, finesse, and integrity. ATG INSPIRE Practitioner(s) will join our established pool of artists & practitioners in the delivery of an exciting upcoming programme. Based within Sunderland Empire Theatre, you will join our freelance pool supporting weekly sessions, schools' workshops and artist development, alongside other opportunities as they arise. You’ll report to the ATG INSPIRE Producer and ATG INSPIRE Officer. We are specifically looking for practitioners with experience in one or more of the following: • Voice and Musical Direction, • Musical Theatre, • Dance/Choreography We actively encourage applicants with non-traditional routes into the arts. Key responsibilities • To plan and deliver high quality and exciting learning & participatory workshops/activities, • To liaise closely with the CL team, helping to maintain effective communication;, • Contribute to the creation and development of education support material, project plans and workshop plans, • Support evaluation of workshops with participants, teachers/ group leaders, • To work within Sunderland Empire and CL’s remit to provide as much access to activities as possible to people with a wide range of backgrounds and additional needs, • To ensure that the theatre’s health and safety standards are met, • To champion the work of ATG INSPIRE, the venue and wider strategies for the area, • To operate in line with all ATG ENTERTAINMENT company policy & procedures, including but not limited to Safeguarding Policies and Privacy (GDPR) Everyone at ATG Entertainment is expected to play their part in achieving our goals and upholding our core values, by: • Committing to creating and upholding a positive, inclusive culture that nurtures potential and supports well-being., • Playing your part in reducing our environmental impact and finding more sustainable ways of working., • Encouraging the next generation in live entertainment by contributing to our outreach and training programmes, including mentoring students and trainees, and supporting our ATG INSPIRE work. Your skills, qualities, and experience.
