Job Title: Electrician Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun – Based on site and must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow Salary: £38,662.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable) Requirements: Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application What you’ll be doing: • Installation of a variety of types of cables (multi-core, single core and co-axial) & electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.), • Cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment, • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation, • Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations, • Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent, • Relevant experience in a marine installation or major industrial installation environment, • Understanding all assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH, • Understanding of relevant trade drawings, • Knowledge of tag out process and the correct proving dead procedure, • Mounting of electrical equipment & components Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. As an Electrician within BAE Systems Naval Ships, you will play a key role in the installation of electrical systems on our state-of-the-art naval vessels.
