The Role This is a unique opportunity for a versatile and proactive Senior Insight Analyst who thrives on solving diverse business challenges through data. You will act as a critical data partner across the entire organisation - from warehouse operations to eCommerce - delivering insights that drive measurable commercial impact. The role blends analytical depth with business acumen, storytelling, and a passion for empowering others to use data confidently. You will work with stakeholders at all levels of data literacy, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that shape strategic decisions. This is not a siloed reporting role. You will have variety - one day analysing pricing and profitability, the next helping the eCommerce team optimise digital performance or supporting finance with margin analysis. Key Responsibilities Cross-Functional Analysis & Business Partnering • Serve as the go-to data consultant for teams across the business, supporting stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy, • Deliver insights spanning logistics efficiency, inventory turnover, sales performance, and marketing campaign effectiveness, • Independently explore large, complex datasets to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities, • Translate findings into clear, actionable stories through compelling data visualisations and presentations, • Support the finance team with data for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, • Partner with FP&A to provide analytical perspectives on revenue, margin, and cost trends, • Promote a culture of data-driven thinking across the organisation, • Develop analyses that demonstrate the value of key metrics and evolve into repeatable reports, • Work hands-on with the company's modern data platform, • Use SQL for querying and joining large, cross-functional datasets, • Apply Python for advanced analysis, data manipulation, and process automation This role will focus on analytical areas central to a wholesale/distribution environment, including: • Pricing & Margin Analysis: Contract/matrix pricing, price realisation, rebate effectiveness, • Customer & Product Profitability: SKU-level analysis, cost-to-serve modelling, • Working Capital: Order-to-cash cycle analysis, payment terms optimisation, • Inventory & Purchasing: ABC/XYZ classification, purchase price variance, GMROI, excess & obsolete stock identification, • Marketing Analytics: Customer lifecycle analysis, RFM segmentation, promotion effectiveness Technical Skills (Essential) • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and complex queries, • Advanced Excel skills for day-to-day analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas), • Experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboarding and visualisation, • Proven background in a data analyst or business intelligence role, • Demonstrable experience working with large, complex datasets, • Track record of delivering actionable insights that influenced business decisions, • Experience within a wholesale, distribution, or supply chain environment with high SKU complexity, • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle), • Experience with Salesforce and Google Analytics, • Exceptional problem-solving ability with a keen eye for accuracy and detail, • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect insights to commercial outcomes, • Excellent communication and presentation skills - able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, • A collaborative, curious, and self-motivated mindset, • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities You will join a forward-thinking organisation that values curiosity, collaboration, and commercial impact.
