Position Summary: The Commissioning Technician is an integral part of the commissioning team, with their main responsibility being to work with and support the commissioning engineer and their manager in the successful commissioning of our BESS projects. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel and complete tasks at various project sites nation wide. Responsibilities: • Play a critical role on-site in the execution of BESS projects, from mechanical completion through to entering commercial operation,, • Perform task assigned by the commissioning manager and engineer, ranging from visual inspections through to electrical fault finding and beyond,, • Perform daily routine tasks such as executing commissioning test sheets, reviewing and logging issues/resolutions and helping to monitor the progress of the project’s commissioning activities,, • Support the commissioning of the overall control system by testing the network connectivity of all field devices and performing point-to-point tests,, • Provide on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting and hands-on support,, • Supervise subcontractors on-site where required,, • Assist in developing standard operatingprocedures from lessons learned on-site,, • Assist with the completion of testing documentation and preparation of test reports in a timely manner,, • Support client and their O&M contractor training,, • Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies,, • Attending and occasionally leading Plan of Day (POD) meetings,, • Willingness to travel domestically up to 100% of the time. Background Pearson is responsible for the delivery of two international assessment studies in schools in Scotland: 1. PIRLS. The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) assesses the reading achievement of pupils at about age 10 (P5 in Scotland), every five years across about 60 countries. In addition to reading achievement, PIRLS gathers information on how pupils' performance is related to their attitudes, gender and background. PIRLS includes questionnaires for pupils, teachers, headteachers and parents/carers which together provide rich contextual data for the interpretation of the assessment., 2. TIMSS. The Trends in Maths and Science Study (TIMSS), assesses the performance in maths and science of pupils at ages 10 and 14, (P5 and S2 in Scotland) every four years across about 60 countries. It provides internationally comparative data on pupils' achievement in maths and science, and how their performance is related to their attitudes, gender and background. In addition to the assessment, TIMSS includes questionnaires for pupils, teachers, headteachers, and parents/carers, which together provide rich contextual data for the interpretation of the assessment and add valuable perspectives on the teaching of mathematics and science.
