Axon Moore are partnering with a successful SME in the Wakefield area who are on a growth journey. The business requires a Group Finance Director to support the Managing Director and play a key role in leading the business and take full ownership of the finance function.The business is externally invested, comprises a small number of legal entities that require management from both a Group level as well as day to day, subsidiary level, balancing the interests of both.They have a long established brand within their core markets, and the Group is evolving at pace so a change orientated Group Finance Director will be required.Key responsibilities of the Group Finance Director role will include: • Lead the finance function which offers financial support from multiple sites, • Manage all accounting and statutory deadlines, including year-end audit and monthly accounting timetables, • Analyse existing business structure and the role of the Group function to ensure the businesses are appropriately supported and finances are managed accordingly, • Carry out ongoing systems review of ERP system and financial processes, suggesting improvements where necessary, • Manage longer term financial planning initiatives, ensuring budgets and forecasts are managed appropriately and modelled for future growth and success, • Manage a wide range of external and investment stakeholders The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skills and experience:, • Qualified financial leader with significant post-qualified and financial leadership experience, • Experience within a site environment, ideally managing multiple sites from a financial perspective, • Experience of working within a Group structure would be desirable, as would be managing external investment stakeholders This is a site based leadership role, so there will be a requirement to work on site most days, with some travel to other sites necessary from time to time
