Contract Type: Freelance Contract (Inside IR35) Duration: Initial 3 Months Rate: £480 - £500 per day (Inside IR35) Location: South West We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site / Section Engineer to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project involving large-scale structures and bridge works. This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor with a proven background in major civil engineering projects, capable of managing site engineering activities, setting out, quality assurance, and coordinating construction works safely and efficiently. • Setting out and surveying for structures and bridge works., • Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site., • Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements., • Producing and maintaining QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records., • Managing technical queries and liaising with design teams., • Monitoring subcontractor performance and site progress., • Supporting temporary works, permits, and safe systems of work., • Driving high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance., • Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer on major infrastructure projects., • Strong experience delivering major structures, bridges, reinforced concrete, and heavy civils works., • Experience working on large-scale projects within highways, rail, utilities, energy, or similar sectors., • Strong setting out and surveying capability., • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications., • SMSTS, • CSCS Card, • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), • Temporary Works experience (desirable), • First Aid qualification (desirable) We are looking for a self-sufficient freelance engineer with a strong track record on major construction projects, particularly structures and bridge packages.
