About the Role The PE & Outdoor Learning Lead plays a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement in learning across Ashley Park–Skylarks School. You will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality, inclusive PE and outdoor learning programme that reflects the needs of all pupils, encourages participation and supports both physical and emotional wellbeing. This role combines high-quality teaching with leadership of PE, outdoor learning and healthy living, creating positive, enjoyable experiences that inspire pupils to be active, confident and motivated. Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver and monitor a progressive, high-quality PE and outdoor learning curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils, • Increase participation in sport and physical activity across the school, ensuring access and inclusion for every child, • Act as a positive role model, creating a fun, motivating and supportive environment for learning, • Promote healthy living through PE, PSHE and outdoor learning, including the development of mindfulness and wellbeing activities, • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and positive social interaction through physical activity, • Identify and reduce barriers to participation, ensuring all pupils can engage successfully, • Maintain effective links with local sporting clubs, organisations and the wider community to enhance opportunities for pupils You will have: • Degree in Education (desirable), • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (desirable), • A good understanding of safeguarding principles and practice, • Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Ashley Park is a brand-new independent specialist school for 60 autistic pupils aged 11–19, offering tailored education, care, and support within a safe and supportive environment.
