Lab Assistant – Global Medical Device Company Location: Deeside Contract: 12 months Start Date: ASAP Rate: £95 per day (PAYE) Overview We are recruiting a Lab Assistant to support stability studies within a regulated laboratory environment. This role plays a key part in the management, storage and preparation of samples used to support product shelf life and labelling activities. You’ll work closely with Stability Scientists and the wider laboratory team to ensure studies are executed in line with approved protocols and quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Manage stability samples in accordance with predefined study protocols, • Support planned and ad-hoc sample set-downs, pull requests and laboratory tasks, • Maintain stability equipment, including calibration, documentation and quality records, • Ensure laboratory activities comply with GLP/GMP and ISO quality standards, • Maintain a safe working environment and report near misses where required, • Transport and organise samples across multiple storage conditions and local sites, • Collate stability data for use in technical and stability reports, • Take ownership of the storage, retrieval and tracking of stability samples, • Liaise with external vendors regarding maintenance, servicing and calibration activities, • Support laboratory setup, sample preparation and test method development/validation, • Order laboratory consumables, chemicals, reagents and equipment as required, • Contribute to continuous improvement of stability and laboratory processes Skills & Experience • Scientific background desirable, but experience is not essential, • Full UK driving licence required (use of a company vehicle for inter-site transport), • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads, • Comfortable following SOPs, protocols and technical documents, • Basic experience using computerised systems and Microsoft Word/Excel, • Proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve processes, • Competent in handling and disposing of chemicals and reagents in line with site procedures Qualifications • A-Levels (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology or Maths Working Environment • Laboratory-based role with exposure to chemicals, reagents and solvents, • Work with temperature-controlled storage units (freezers, fridges, incubators), • Requirement to travel between local Deeside facilities, • Flexibility is essential due to changing laboratory priorities
