Registered Manager Ofsted - Bexleyheath About the Company Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? The Children’s Home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager to join their team in South East London. About the Role We’re looking for someone with a strong background in residential childcare, excellent leadership skills, and a deep commitment to creating safe, nurturing, and empowering environments for children and young people. To be considered, you must hold an NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent), possess a full UK driving licence, and have a proven track record in referrals and placements. Key Responsibilities • Ensure high standards of care in line with children’s regulations and quality care standards., • Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, motivation, and support., • Plan, organise, and allocate resources effectively to meet service needs., • Maintain compliance with childcare legislation, including child protection and safeguarding policies., • Promote equal opportunities and inclusive practice within the home., • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, families, and external agencies., • Understand and manage the complex needs and behaviours of children with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) and LD (Learning Disabilities)., • Drive continuous improvement in line with Ofsted requirements and best practices in children’s residential care. Experience & Qualifications • Within the last five years, you must have worked for at least two years in a role relevant to the residential care of children, including at least one year in a position involving the supervision and management of staff., • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or an equivalent qualification as recognised by the registered provider., • NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Caring for Children & Young People (actual or in progress)., • Full UK driving licence. Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, child protection, and safeguarding., • Excellent organisational and resource management skills., • Effective leadership and team management capabilities., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners., • Commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people. Preferred Skills • Proven experience in referrals and placements.
