We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our dynamic R&D team, focusing on After Market and Support. The role As Engineering Manager – Aftermarket & Support, you will lead a team of NPI and Test Engineers within our Product Lifecycle Management function, delivering aftermarket and support objectives and ensuring documentation is complete, compliant and aligned with best practice. You will shape and support the sustaining roadmap with a focus on standardisation, efficiency, and continuous improvement—defining processes, establishing clear KPIs, and driving field reliability improvements. Key duties. • Setting objectives and managing performance for the NPI & Support Engineer through regular reviews, coaching, and ongoing feedback., • Mentoring, developing, and supporting career progression for the team member in collaboration with the Head of Department., • Contributing to product roadmap planning, ensuring aftermarket and support considerations are represented early., • Collaborating cross‑functionally to achieve optimal design, quality, and lifecycle outcomes across active and released products., • Reviewing and approve technical documentation in accordance with the QMS and engineering change processes., • Driving continuous improvement activities, identifying inefficiencies and implementing or escalating improvements as required., • Supporting and participating in CAPA activities, ensuring engineering inputs to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions are robust and compliant., • Owning aftermarket support activities end to end for released medical devices., • Leading engineering investigations into product failures, complaints and reliability events., • Defining and prioritising support engineering tasks., • Establishing clear verification and validation criteria for proposed fixes., • Leading engineering input to change requests., • Feeding operational and field insights into design reviews., • Supporting post-market surveillance (PMS)., • Providing engineering support to global service and operations teams., • Tracking and reporting aftermarket investigations. What are we looking for? To be considered for this Engineering Manager – Aftermarket & Support opportunity, you will have the following: Essential skills • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, • BSc/BEng in Materials or Science related discipline, • Proven track record of leading engineering teams., • Extensive experience within the medical device industry., • Proven experience in managing aftermarket support infrastructure and evolution., • Experience with MDD/MDR, • Experience of applying ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, • Breath of understanding across other engineering domains., • Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as JAMA, • Test experience in complex products requiring combined mechanical, electronic and software components., • Natural leader, able to share vision and motivate people, • Drive for continuous improvement, • Team player with a positive “can do” attitude, • Ability to handle multiple, challenging, infrastructure areas of responsibility, • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills What can we offer you?
