The vacancy About the role Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Location(s): Wolverhampton We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our Healthy Homes team. This is a hybrid role, where you will be based at our office in Wolverhampton but will also have the flexibility to work from home. You'll manage a team of case handlers and coordinators responsible for resolving disrepair claims and property hazards, particularly those involving condensation, damp, and mould (CD&M). Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all cases are triaged, prioritised, and managed efficiently, with a strong emphasis on meeting the new Awaab's Law timescales. You will lead the team in assessing claims in line with housing legislation, coordinating with surveyors, and ensuring effective legal protocols are in place for litigation. A key part of your role will be to work directly with customers, providing advice, managing complaints, and finding resolutions to avoid legal action. This role is not just about compliance; it's about putting our customers' safety at the heart of everything we do by ensuring timely and effective resolutions for their homes. What we're looking for We need a proactive and knowledgeable leader who is able to handle a dynamic workload and consistently deliver high performance. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of your team, ensuring that work is correctly raised with our Service Delivery teams and that all regulatory and legal timescales are met. • In-depth understanding of disrepair law, housing regulations, and legal standards related to compliance., • Awareness of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and the Decent Homes standard., • Technical knowledge of building regulations and building pathology is desirable., • Proven ability to build effective and engaged operational teams., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to construct and deliver clear ideas and concepts., • A flexible working attitude with time, travel to our other offices, and demonstrated reliability., • Salary: £41,000 - £46,000 per year, with an annual salary review, • Performance Bonus: Based on individual and company-wide targets, • Flexible Working: We're happy to explore options if this is important to you, • Personal benefits fund: £500 annual allowance for benefits such as private medical insurance, dental treatment, critical illness cover, or gym membership, • Annual leave: 27 days per year, plus bank holidays, with an option to buy or sell up to 5 days, • Pension options: Choose from two pension schemes, with employer contributions of up to 10%, • Life Assurance, • Wellbeing Support - not just for you, but also for your partner, children, parents, and siblings.
