The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise within a specialist multidisciplinary team delivering evidence‑based care for young people with eating disorders. The service combines intensive day hospital treatment and home‑based interventions, offering a flexible and family‑centred approach to prevent or shorten inpatient admissions and support sustainable recovery. In addition, as it is a new service, the post holder will have the opportunity to provide medical leadership in its development. Main duties of the job Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management for young people with eating disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions. Lead on formulation, care planning, and review within a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, nurses, dietitians, family therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Offer psychiatric input for both Day Hospital (maximum 6 patients) and the Intensive Support at Home Team (up to 5 patients) components of the service. While this is a new service, it is anticipated that there will be one new patient for each service weekly, although the day patients will likely already open to the home support team. Therefore, it is expected that the post holder will see one new patient per week for psychiatric assessment and 10 follow up reviews per week. Oversee pharmacological treatments, physical health monitoring, and mental state management.
