About the Company: Our client is a specialist electrical EPC subcontractor delivering utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the UK and Ireland. With an active and growing project portfolio, they operate across multiple live sites simultaneously and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance on every project. The Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all H&S activities across their solar farm and BESS project sites. This is a pivotal role within the business — you will be responsible for developing and embedding a strong safety culture, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and providing hands-on support to site teams throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental activities across multiple solar PV and BESS construction sites, • Develop, implement, and maintain H&S management systems, policies, and procedures in line with CDM 2015 regulations, • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and drive corrective actions, • Prepare and review Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and Method Statements, • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; produce detailed reports and implement preventative measures, • Liaise with principal contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies (HSE) as required, • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and H&S training to site operatives and management, • Monitor and report on H&S KPIs to senior management, • Ensure all subcontractors and supply chain partners meet the required H&S standards, • Stay current with UK H&S legislation, industry standards, and best practice in renewable energy construction Requirements: • NEBOSH National Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), • Proven H&S management experience within construction, ideally renewables, solar PV, or electrical EPC environments, • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, • Experience producing and reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and site documentation, • Confident conducting site audits, inspections, and incident investigations, • Excellent communication skills — able to engage effectively with site operatives, management, and external stakeholders, • Valid CSCS card (Managers & Professionals level), • Full UK driving licence, • Willingness to travel to sites UK-wide and stay away from home when required Desirable: • IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH / CMIOSH), • Experience on solar farm or BESS projects specifically, • Environmental management experience (ISO 14001 awareness), • First Aid at Work certificate What's On Offer: • Competitive salary of £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience, • All site expenses covered (travel, accommodation, subsistence), • Company pension scheme, • A supportive, collaborative working environment with an experienced project team, • Exposure to a diverse and growing portfolio of UK and Ireland renewable energy projects To Apply: Interested in this role?
