We’re hiring: AV Streaming Technician This is an exciting opportunity for a highly technical AV professional with strong experience in streaming, networking and IT, alongside solid knowledge across wider live event production. You’ll play a key role in our technical production team, supporting virtual, hybrid and in-room events for public, private and third-sector clients. About you You’re a confident and capable technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving problems before they arise. You bring a stronger focus on streaming, networking and IT than a standard AV technician, while remaining comfortable across multiple AV disciplines. You’ll ideally have: • At least 2 years’ experience in the live events or broadcasting industry, • Strong technical knowledge across audio, video, lighting, livestreaming and networking, • Experience with live or virtual event streaming platforms such as vMix, Livestream Studio and OBS, • A good understanding of video delivery protocols including RTMP, WebRTC and UDP/TCP, • Strong IT and networking skills, particularly for NDI video and IP-based workflows, • Experience integrating Zoom and Teams into broadcast or streaming environments, • Knowledge of video playback systems, graphics switchers, scaling and live video workflows, • Some experience with audio consoles such as Midas and Allen & Heath, plus Dante audio networking, • Some experience with lighting consoles, fixture setup, rigging and DMX, • CAD experience producing scale floor plans, • Great communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive mindset, • Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required Key responsibilities • Prepare, test, maintain and service a wide range of AV, streaming, networking, lighting and rigging equipment, • Support the setup and operation of streaming encoders, decoders, conferencing platforms and network infrastructure, • Manage livestream, webcast and remote contribution workflows, • Set up, operate and de-rig equipment for live, virtual and hybrid events, • Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and maintain resilient systems with backup options, • Help plan IP-based video, streaming and conferencing workflows, • Produce scale floor plans using CAD software, • Liaise with suppliers and manage cross-hire bookings, • Compile AV quotes and support clients with technical requirements, • Prep and de-prep equipment in the warehouse, • Load, unload and deliver equipment safely to venues, • Stay up to date with new technologies and contribute to future-proofing our services, • Take part in training and support sustainable technical operations Working hours Standard hours are 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, some early starts, late finishes and pre-scheduled weekend work will be required, along with travel and overnight stays across the UK. Training and progression We support professional development and offer a personalised progression plan. As you grow, there will be opportunities to progress into roles such as Senior Technician and Production Manager, with both internal and external training available.
