Your Role and Responsibilities * Define and Implement Configuration Management System: * Establish and maintain a comprehensive configuration management framework aligned with organisational and MOD standards. * Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and tools for configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audit. * Configuration Items (CIs) and CMDB Management: * Define and maintain the structure and classification of Configuration Items (CIs) across all environments. * Configure and optimise CMDB tooling (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) to ensure accurate data integrity and relationships between CIs. * Implement automated discovery and reconciliation processes to keep the CMDB current and reliable. * Governance and Compliance: * Apply ITIL V4 principles to define and implement compliant processes for configuration and change management. * Ensure adherence to UK MOD security and quality standards throughout the lifecycle. * Technical Leadership: * Oversee configuration activities across hybrid environments (cloud and server-based systems). * Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to maintain accurate configuration baselines. * Agile and SecDevOps Integration: * Work closely with agile development teams to align configuration management with sprint planning, release cycles, and backlog refinement. * Support SecDevOps practices to embed security and compliance into continuous integration and delivery pipelines. * Stakeholder Engagement: * Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and MOD representatives to ensure configuration management objectives are met. * Provide regular reporting and audits to demonstrate compliance and readiness. WHO DO WE NEED? * Proven experience in configuration management within complex IT programmes. * Strong knowledge of ITIL V4 and ability to design and apply compliant processes. * Demonstrable knowledge with managing and overseeing entire release management cycle to include hotfixes, defect tracking, production operations status reporting * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and on-premises server environments. * Familiarity with UK MOD standards, security classifications, and governance frameworks. * Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated artefacts (release planning, retrospectives, backlog management). * Exposure to SecDevOps principles and tooling. * Practical experience in defining CIs and configuring CMDB tools. Desirable Qualifications * ITIL V4 Certification. * MOD Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain). * Experience with configuration management tools (e.g.,ManageEngine CMDB). Description Solution Architect (Maritime Autonomy) Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Solution Architect to lead the architecting and design of modern autonomous and digital C4ISR systems and solutions for maritime defence capabilities and platforms. The role will support multiple maritime and related defence opportunities with the candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime systems and architectures, autonomy, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as good understanding of maritime platform design.
