We are currently recruiting an experienced Regional Quality Manager to work remotely with at least 3-4 days of each week visiting prisons to support teams for companies Prison Education Service (PES) contracts in London. The Regional Quality Manager will support the Head of Quality to raise standards of delivery within the prison education service (PES) and ensure that delivery meets the quality standards and external accreditation requirements. You will lead on the improvement of delivery as per assigned priorities and projects across the PES contract. The Regional Quality Manager will be responsible for designing and delivering training, supporting the quality managers in the prisons, promoting good quality teaching and learning, carrying out audits and leading on the instructional coaching observation cycle and regularly reviewing quality improvement plans, and communicating effectively throughout all teams to ensure quality assurance is implemented consistently. Key Responsibilities: • Support the Head of Quality with driving the quality cycle through the on-site management and teaching teams, for showing impact on learning development and outcomes., • Lead and deliver on assigned quality improvement priority responsibilities, including projects, as agreed with the Head of Quality., • Share practice on innovative teaching and learning strategies through the prison teaching teams for driving effective teaching and learning., • Support the Head of Quality in designing training, coordinating, and delivering training to quality managers on sites, teaching teams, and curriculum managers to ensure a high-quality delivery of provision across functional skills, ESOL, vocational programmes., • Lead on curriculum deep dives and themed health checks, working closely with prison stakeholders to achieve a successful outcome., • Forming part of the internal quality review team in measuring progress and improvement on sites., • Monitor updates and support improvement with Quality Improvement Plans, including Ofsted actions, working closely with Education Managers and Assistant Manager – Quality Specialists., • Provide coaching and mentoring support guidance to new or developing quality on site managers., • Develop and review annually pre-inspection guidance and tools for managers to use to ensure the best possible outcome at inspection., • Provide pre-inspection support as per the current Ofsted Framework to ensure the best possible outcome at inspection., • Carry out relevant line management responsibilities as per company procedures., • Compile timely management and performance reports as agreed with the Head of Quality., • Review the quality of learning resources and documentation, providing support and training where required to ensure being completed to the company’s quality standards., • Support sharing of best practice to raise standards across prisons, working closely with the wider teams to understand where synergies exist in wider provision., • Work with stakeholders to monitor the impact of interventions, report where standards are not being met and identify further action as required., • To analyse and interpret MI, statistical data, and feedback, utilising this information to produce comprehensive reports to inform the focus on priority improvements. Person Specification: Essential: • PGCE or equivalent learning and development qualification., • Extensive knowledge of what high quality delivery looks like in the context of prison education and training., • The ability to deal professionally and tactfully with demanding situations to ensure understanding and buy in., • Experience of managing a team within a prison setting., • Analytical and report writing skills – attention to detail., • Excellent organisational and time management skills; prioritising and managing to deadlines., • Sound knowledge of IT – including Outlook, internet for research and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, email, PowerPoint)., • The ability to travel to carry out the requirements of the role, given the remote nature of the prison sites, a car is essential as public transport links are not adequate. Desirable: • Academic ability to degree level, in subject that teaches., • Verifier and assessment qualifications., • Level 3 Maths and English., • ICT at level 2 or above., • Strong background in coaching to improve quality of delivery., • Experience of managing a team within a prison setting.
