Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Primary) Location: Sheffield Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only) About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs, • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities, • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets, • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment, • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO, • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting (preferred), • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable, • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures What We Offer: • A supportive and inclusive school community, • Opportunities for professional development and training, • A rewarding role making a real difference in children’s lives How to Apply: Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
