Job Title:\nPrincipal Engineer – Support Engineering \n Location: Barrow-in-Furness,\nFilton, Brough OR Coventry. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible\nworking arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about\nthe options for this particular role \n Salary: Negotiable dependant\non experience What you’ll be\ndoing: • Assist the\nSenior Engineering Manager in delivering effective\nILS outputs for the Strategic Weapon System Support (SWSS)\nsolution, • Provide expert support knowledge in\nresponding to engineering queries from the MOD or Submarine\nEnterprise partners about the design, safety, maintenance, and\noperation of equipment and systems on in-service\nsubmarines, • Offer expert advice on equipment in\nline with current governance processes, in response to engineering\nqueries from the MOD Design Authority, • Deliver\nsupport to the appropriate Engineering and Support Managers in the\npreparation of briefs and reports for both internal\n, • Provide technical support for creating the maintenance\nplan, ensuring it meets Design Authority requirements, and\ncontribute to work aimed at reducing duration, including related\nrisks and issues and external reporting requirements\n, • Knowledge\nof DN Class Platform / SWSS (Strategic Weapon System Support),\noperation, maintenance and training, • Strategic\nWeapon System (SWS) qualification, • Knowledge of\nMOD Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and Submarine\nDelivery Agency (SDA) processes, • Knowledge of\nthe complete engineering lifecycle with some experience of\noperating in a number of phases The Datum Pack\nteam This specialist role works\nclosely with the Product Configuration team, particularly in\nrelation to managing\nthe Datum Pack, which is just one part of their responsibilities.\nThis SQEP technical advisory role will collaborate directly with\nthe technical delivery teams who manage and organize\nproduct-related items, providing them with authoritative guidance\nand technical assurance. You will become part of a rapidly growing\nteam focused on support and supportability within a fast-paced and\ncontinuously evolving environment. The role requires sharpness and\nadaptability to effectively meet the demands of this challenging setting.
