Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Procurement • Purchase raw materials, components, MRO items, tooling, packaging, and production supplies required to support daily manufacturing operations., • Ensure continuous availability of materials to prevent production delays or line stoppages., • Identify, evaluate, and approve suppliers capable of meeting plant-specific quality, safety, and delivery standards., • Negotiate pricing, lead times, contracts, and supply agreements to reduce cost and risk., • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary., • Work with Engineering teams to source new materials or support cost‑down initiatives., • Participate in product change discussions to ensure supply readiness for new or modified components., • Drive cost‑saving initiatives through negotiation, supplier consolidation, or alternative sourcing., • Analyse market trends (e.g., material prices, logistics costs) to support budget planning., • Maintain accurate ERP data including pricing, lead times, and supplier details., • Comply with all plant health & safety, environmental, and ethical sourcing policies., • Ensure all materials meet required quality standards and industry or regulatory compliance., • Support internal and external audits relating to procurement or supply chain processes. About the Company This Electrical Design Engineer will report to the Design Lead and will work within the Capital Programme directorate based in either our Crawley or Maidstone office. Designs to be delivered to cost, time and quality targets. All designs must meet Networks design and CDM standards. These designs could be for both non-contestable and contestable works. Our engineering client is looking for an experienced Works Manager for their fabrication factory. It is essential that you have Team Leader/Management experience as well as being a competent TIG Welder using stainless tubular material. Whilst around 60% of the working time will be spent on the shop floor TIG Welding, the remainder will be spent in a senior operational role. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing activities, staff and production processes within the fabrication factory.
