Site Manager \n Location: London Borough of RichmondSalary: Competitive (dependent on experience)Job Type: Full-time, Permanent \n Overview \n An established and prestigious private school in the Kew area is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, and safety of the school’s premises. This is a key role ensuring the school environment remains safe, compliant, and conducive to learning. \n Key Responsibilities \n Site & Facilities Management \n\n • Manage the operation, maintenance, and security of all school buildings and grounds\n, • Ensure facilities are maintained to a high standard, supporting both academic and extracurricular activities\n, • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance programmes and reactive repairs\n, • Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget\n\n Health & Safety Compliance \n\n • Take lead responsibility for site-related Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation\n, • Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits\n, • Maintain accurate records of compliance, including fire safety, asbestos, and statutory testing\n, • Act as Fire Safety Officer and ensure emergency procedures are in place and understood\n\n Security & Safeguarding \n\n • Ensure robust security measures are in place across the site\n, • Manage access control, alarm systems, and CCTV\n, • Support safeguarding policies by maintaining a secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors\n\n Operational Support \n\n • Provide support for school events, lettings, and external bookings\n, • Oversee cleaning, caretaking, and grounds staff (if applicable)\n, • Manage budgets related to site services and maintenance\n\n Sustainability & Improvements \n\n • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability across the site\n, • Support ongoing development projects and refurbishments\n\n Person Specification \n Essential \n\n • Proven experience in a Site Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar role\n, • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance\n, • Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules\n, • Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills\n, • Excellent organisational and communication skills\n\n Desirable \n\n • Experience working within an education or private school environment\n, • Relevant qualifications (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH, Facilities Management, or trade qualifications)\n, • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures\n\n Benefits \n\n • Pension scheme\n, • Generous holiday entitlement\n, • Supportive working environment within a prestigious school setting\n, • Opportunities for training and professional development\n\n
