Phoenix Canoe Club Limited is looking to appoint a Centre Manager to run the Phoenix Outdoor Centre based on the Welsh Harp Reservoir in North London. The Centre was established in 2011 and provides adventurous activities to schools, higher and further education, SEND, Pupil Referral Units, youth & community groups and the public. Our activities include kayaking, canoeing, Bell boating, SUP boarding, improvised raft uilding, sailing, windsurfing, powerboat tuition, orienteering, team building, forest skills and first aid training. As well as our schools and groups, we also run “Camp Phoenix” school holiday courses and activities, Paddle Parties and Private Tuition. Key Responsibilities: The Centre Manager role is to take charge in the comprehensive management of the Outdoor Centre in the day-to-day running of activities and operational aspects. - Lead, motivate and manage a team of seasonal and sessional instructors and coaches to provide exceptional service to our participants and user groups - Maintain and enforce strict adherence to Health & Safety standards, making sure that the Centre operates in accordance with all relevant regulations and guidelines - Foster positive relations with our participants, user groups and other stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business - Administer Centre budget and allocate resources effectively - Collaborate with the Centre Development Director & Trustees to identify areas for improvement and innovation, working together to enhance our programs and services Qualifications & Experience: The successful candidate will have proven experience in a leadership role in outdoor education and adventurous activities and strong team management skills, as well as the following attributes: - Excellent organisational and financial management skills - In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and good practice - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work collaboratively with the Centre Development Director & Trustees to identify areas for improvement and innovation to enhance our programs and services - A range of relevant NGB qualifications including paddle sports and sailing - Experience and input into the accreditation process for AALA, RYA Training Centre and Paddle UK Delivery Partner - Ability to use (or learn) a number of IT programs including MS Office, Google Suite, WebCollect,WordPress, Xero etc What we can offer you: We are looking for a candidate to be appointed on a long-term basis, as the ability to develop and nurture relationships is key to the role. We require a nanny for 2 children aged 4 & 3 for the weekends only. Potential to work extra during school holidays and must be able to travel on weekends.

An exciting opportunity for 10-20 candidates to start an apprenticeship to become a martial arts instructor in London. All training will be free and provided by us. The apprenticeship period will take approximately 10 weeks (dependant on your commitment) at which point, you will be given classes to teach. No experience is necessary. Earn £20-25 per lesson taught and work around your timetable. Typical classes are from 3pm with the option of weekend work. Your initial timetable will consist of 5 around 5 lessons to teach, growing to a full timetable of 15-18 classes per week. You will be paid for the classes you teach. We rarely teach during the school holidays although this can be altered after discussions with the class instructor and the management. PLEASE READ Candidates will not be selected until 5th February 2025, interviews will take place the week of 10th February with a view to starting training asap. Interviews will take place in Clapham and will be group based. The paid work will strt after the Easter school break, subject to qualification. You must be 18+ at the time of end of March and must be able to pass a DBS criminal check. You also must have the right to work in the UK.

Assist in the provision of a variety of appropriate learning opportunities for children and young people some of whom may require special attention and/or will have come from various racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. 2. Lead groups of children in specific sport, game craft and learning activities. Manage behaviours and adapt the activity to meet the needs of groups or individuals. Prepares for activities. 3. Evaluate events and activities and contribute to the development of the service including making recommendations for change and development of the activities. 4. Supervise children to ensure safe use of equipment and facility without endangering themselves or other users. 5. Check that play and learning conditions conform to the appropriate health and safety standards and are suitable for the group and activity planned. Contribute to the corporate responsibility for continuously checking that the premises, gates, etc are secure, reporting defects promptly to the leader in charge. 6. In conjunction with the leader in charge, liaise with other workers to share activities and skills to ensure a range of complementary activities are available. Support and advise less experienced workers in activities. 7. Ensure that the Young People Matter equal opportunities and standards are integrated into all aspects of the service. 8. Undertake first line child protection measures, reporting areas of concern to the senior Manager. 9. Publicise the service and special events through assisting in the production of leaflets, posters, and information bulletins. 10. Assist in maintaining contacts with teachers, parents and users of play service to increase the uptake of existing services, to design or tailor additional services to resolve problems. 11. Contribute to keeping local records appropriate to the service. 12. At the direction of the senior Manager / senior Project, support the operation of holiday clubs, including enrolment and operation. 13. Child protection · To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by Young People Matter Policy.
