Role Overview The Client Manager is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accountancy and advisory services, and building long-term client relationships. The role contributes to business growth by ensuring excellent client service, identifying commercial opportunities, and delivering work efficiently within agreed budgets and deadlines. Key Responsibilities • Manage and develop strong, long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients., • Deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services in line with professional standards and client expectations., • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and contribute to business development activities., • Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timescales and budgets., • Maintain a proactive approach to client service, addressing queries and issues promptly and professionally., • Work collaboratively with colleagues and senior management to support the firm’s objectives and business plans., • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal systems, processes, and best practices., • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry developments., • Use accounting and reporting software effectively to analyse financial information and support client decision-making., • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with clients and internal stakeholders. Key Duties • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a primary point of contact and ensuring regular communication., • Prepare, review, and finalise statutory accounts and supporting documentation in accordance with agreed deadlines and budgets., • Prepare business and personal tax computations for review., • Prepare, review, or oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns., • Maintain or oversee the maintenance of clients’ accounting records and management information., • Prepare periodic management accounts and performance reports (monthly, quarterly, or half-yearly) where required., • Provide clients with practical advice to improve profitability, cash flow, and overall financial performance., • Identify and escalate any issues that may impact delivery timescales or budgets., • Resolve client queries prior to final review and client meetings., • Attend meetings with clients, both remotely and at client premises, as required., • Support and contribute to ad-hoc projects and assignments., • Carry out other reasonable duties as required in line with the needs of the business. Skills and Experience • Previous experience in a client-facing role within accountancy or professional services., • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, taxation, and compliance requirements., • Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities to add value to clients., • Confident using accounting and reporting software and Microsoft Office applications., • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
