You’ll need to relish that energy and manage your time with clarity and confidence., • You’re excited by the prospect of traveling in this role, working both locally overseas and offshore The job (and the impact) This is a senior role in our Aberdeen video team. You’ll be leading people and projects, while still getting stuck in on shoots and edits. Think: creative leadership and practical delivery. You’ll be producing a wide range of work - from rugged offshore shoots to brand storytelling, technical explainers to cinematic shorts. You’ll bring order to complexity, calm to chaos, and creativity to everything. What you’ll do: 🎬 Plan and lead shoots - from scoping and scheduling through to delivery 🎥 Direct, film, light and record on location ✂️ Edit with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to a high polish\ 👥 Mentor and line manage members of the video team 📅 Manage resourcing, timelines and delivery across multiple projects for the entire video team 🤝 Work directly with clients, partners and internal teams 🧠 Shape our production process and culture 🌍 Travel across the UK (and sometimes overseas) for shoots What you bring: 🎬 Senior-level experience in videography and editing 💡 Strong experience operating lighting equipment 🎤 A solid understanding of interview setups and microphones 🎞️ Experience with gimbals or stabilisers 📷 Experience with Sony mirrorless cameras (or industry equivalent) 👥 Leadership experience (or clear evidence you’re ready to take that step) 👀 A sharp eye and high standards — visually, technically, and professionally 🌍 Confidence on location: setting up, problem-solving, and managing people 🤝 A collaborative mindset and a love for craft ⚡ Comfort with change and a bias for action ❤️ An authentic connection to our values and purpose Nice-to-haves: • Motion graphics or design experience, • Drone qualifications or interest in gaining certification, • Project/production management background, • Offshore qualified and experience filming offshore or marine-based work What success looks like (6 months in) ✨ A video team that’s efficient, confident, and proud of their work — with clear processes and ways of working documented, resourcing mapped, and projects delivered on time and on budget. 🤝 A team culture built on close communication and genuine collaboration — people supporting each other, learning from each other, and feeling energised by the work. 📋 A resourcing and scheduling system that feels fair, transparent, and predictable — so the team can focus on craft, not chaos. 🎬 Projects consistently hitting a high creative and technical standard — raising the bar for what “great” looks like at AVC. 💡 Clients not only satisfied but genuinely excited to work with us again — because of the trust, care, and professionalism your team brings to every interaction. 🚀 You’ve established yourself as both a hands-on craftsperson and a trusted team leader — balancing time “on the tools” with the ability to step back, plan, and lead. 🌐 Strong relationships built with colleagues across AVC — earning the trust of leaders in other departments, creating a culture of shared accountability, and making collaboration smooth and natural.
