Paediatric Occupational Therapist - London Location: LondonWorking Pattern: On-siteContract Type: Temporary / Ad-hocPay Rate: From £40 per hour We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) to support a Local Authority in delivering high-quality statutory and functional assessments for children and young people across London. The role includes completing specialist OT assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process and providing clear, outcome-driven recommendations for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will work closely with schools, families, SEN teams, and other professionals to support accurate identification of needs and ensure high-quality, child-centred decision-making. Key Responsibilities Statutory & Clinical Assessment • Complete paediatric functional and sensory assessments for children undergoing the EHCNA process., • Provide timely, clear, and measurable OT advice for EHCPs, including recommendations for outcomes, provision, and environmental adjustments., • Liaise effectively with schools, families, SEN teams, and Local Authority professionals., • Maintain accurate, detailed clinical notes in line with professional and safeguarding standards., • BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy., • HCPC registration (essential)., • Minimum 2 years' paediatric experience, ideally within early years, school-age or community settings., • Experience supporting children with SEND and contributing to EHCP assessments and reports., • Strong skills in assessment, report writing, and communication., • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service., • Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)., • Experience working in mainstream, special schools, or early years settings., • Knowledge of sensory integration, handwriting assessment, physical or developmental coordination needs., • Flexible, consultancy-style role with ad-hoc opportunities., • Travel to local schools or community settings may be required.
